EXPANDING FULL BACKGROUND CHECKING
A good question people need to ask themselves, especially today, is: how deep should I look? As in, how far back and how many resources should I use when check in to someone’s background?
The short answer is: all of them.
The long answer is to ask yourself a better question: how much am I willing to risk everything that I have? Because whatever you think you might save by skimping on a background checks, you are in fact risking much, much more.
If you hire someone, and that someone has a history, and there comes a time when he acts on that history, you can and most probably will be held responsible for whatever your hireling does. No, you won’t get charged for first degree murder, but will find your self charged for being an accessory to it, not to mention all of the financial charges you will get.Plus there is the knowledge that you will never be able to live down, should it ever come to a point that we all pray should never come.
Because yes, you are responsible for the things that happen under your watch, even when you think that it’s none of your business. And so it is up to you to take care of that responsibility, in the best way that you possibly can.
